Last week, Dr. Koenraad van Renterghem performed a vasectomy reversal procedure at Jessa Hospital in Hasselt, Belgium. This was the first time that the i-Med Technology Digital Head-mounted Microscope (DHM) was used for a Urologic procedure. Dr. van Renthergem is also associated with the University Hospital in Leuven and serves as the Chairman of the European Association of Urology (EAU) education platform. He believes that DHM can play a crucial role in providing higher quality and more effective education through life-streaming and proctoring.
During the procedure, Boston Scientific's Stijn De Tandt was present, and he was very impressed by the image quality of DHM. He sees great opportunities for education. Jaap Heukelom, the commercial director of i-Med Technology, considers this a promising start of a fruitful cooperation in the field of Urology.
